We’ve created a disruptive, competency-based, adaptive set of tools (collectively branded Learning Objects) and services to power the best brands in education and help learners earn evidence-backed credentials.  The Learning Engineering Team is responsible for working directly with our clients to design and deliver great learning experiences using our suite of learning tools.

 

 

What You'll Do Here:

You are a key resource in a growing team of Learning Engineers and related professionals that engage and collaborate with clients. You will be responsible for helping to lead learning engineering on a wide range of curriculum development projects, identifying success metrics, then conceptualizing, designing, building, implementing, and evaluating learning solutions for our clients’ students. You will also be responsible for helping to develop systematic and scalable processes and procedures to drive best practices across the team and across the organization.

 

 

  • Act as a primarily strategic, as well as operational, resource to consult/direct the design, development, and delivery learning-science-aligned, high-quality, engaging curriculum
  • Consult and support the LO Product Team to ensure that good learning science and design practices are incorporated into and supported by Learning Objects e
  • Consult as a product and learning science SME to clients who contract with LO for Learning Design support and services
  • Support the design and development of systematic team and cross-team processes and procedures
  • Evangelize the important value of Learning Engineering in and out of the organization
  • Support business and sales projects across the organization
  • Formally evaluate the effectiveness of LO learning solutions and report to key stakeholders
  • Conduct and write learning science research, staying sharp with in-depth understanding of current relevant knowledge and practices in the field, and integrate into LO processes
  • Travel up to approximately 50% of your time

 

 

Skills You Will Need Here:

  • You hold a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in instructional design, education, or related field; Bonus points for graduate work beyond the Master's level (e.g., Ed.S, Ed.D., Ph.D.)
  • You have 7-10 years experience in online learning design and delivery
  • You have advanced capabilities in learning science, learning design, and research
  • You can leverage formal professional experience in developing competency-based programs, courses, modules, and assessments
  • You have advanced competencies and experience in evaluating the effectiveness of online learning
  • You are passionate about creating innovative and meaningful solutions for learners
  • Extra credit for:
    • Multimedia production capability and experience
    • Track record of academic presentations and publication
    • Excellent client communication and service skills
    • Teaching experience (particularly in an online setting--synchronous, asynchronous, or both)
    • Substantive support and involvement in business development and / or marketing
    • Experience as a subject matter expert (SME) in the curriculum design process, including authoring course content, creating assessments, writing scripts, storyboards, etc.
    • Experience with HTML5, CSS, LMSes, Adobe creative and other similar applications
